TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
The Creative Arts Department, University of Lagos is set to get the academic environment bubbling again with its annual carnival which features different afri-carribbean countries,but has decided to give it a new face by adding more countries in continuation of her golden jubilee celebration on the 20th September, 2012 at the main campus in Akoka in front of the Senate building
The students of the Department of Creative Arts and other students accross faculties under the coordination of Mr. Onyekaba Cornelius would enact the culture and carnival and styles of Brazil, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, South Africa, Ghana, Egypt, China and India. The event will also feature the students of Theatre and Music LASU as well as a live band and other side attractions and would be concluded with a fire work to signal the end of the 2011/2012 academic session.
Unilag prides itself as the only University in Nigeria to have developed a robust carnioval culture since 2005 and the Unilag @ 50 World Carnival promises to be a memorable event.
